What are CommonBond's drivers of growth?
CommonBond's growth is driven by our unique business model, which offers a better student loan experience.
- Innovative solution. CommonBond’s business model offers an innovative and transformative solution in the student finance industry. Total U.S. student loan debt has now surpassed $1 trillion. It is a pressing problem that requires innovative solutions, which can be met in part by CommonBond's novel approach to making student debt more manageable for students.
- Having impact. We connect students with alumni. This simple model provides each group with the opportunity to meet the other’s goals. Students get financing, investors diversity their portfolios and both benefit from a social connection.
- Low risk. We estimate the likelihood of a CommonBond student defaulting to be low, based on relevant historical data. For example, we project the expected 10-year cumulative loss rate for our Wharton student loan pool to be less than 1%. This risk level is attractive to our investors.
